IN THE HAZE’ is a project that translates the philosophy of the delicate womenswear brand, FINNE, into a physical space. FINNE proposes clothing for oneself, free from societal standards or the male gaze. By reinterpreting the uniform-like structures of menswear, the brand highlights the independence and identity of modern women.

Based on this philosophy, the space focuses on an essential beauty that is felt rather than seen. True to its name, ‘IN THE HAZE,’ the design centers on silhouettes emerging through mist, capturing a quiet tension that prioritizes essence over extravagance.

Every element—furniture, materials, and spatial composition—is stripped of unnecessary decoration to focus on pure form and sensation. Notably, the window partitions are inspired by the sculptural aesthetics of Donald Judd, embedding tension within the most basic forms. While the interior remains hidden from the outside, the view from within creates an image of objects floating beyond the haze. This interplay of concealment and revelation visualizes the interiority and autonomy of women, expressing FINNE’s core values: beauty for oneself, timeless style, and inner strength.

‘IN THE HAZE’는 섬세한 여성복 브랜드 FINNE의 철학을 공간을 통해 풀어낸 프로젝트입니다.

FINNE는 타인의 시선이나 사회적 기준이 아닌, 자신을 위한 옷을 제안합니다. 장식적인 여성성에서 벗어나 남성복의 유니폼적 구조를 재해석하고, 이를 통해 현대 여성의 독립성과 정체성을 드러내고자 합니다.

이 프로젝트에서는 그런 FINNE의 철학을 바탕으로, 보이지 않지만 분명히 느껴지는 본질적인 아름다움에 집중하여 공간을 구성하였습니다. ‘IN THE HAZE’라는 이름처럼, 안개 속 실루엣이 스며들듯 드러나는 이미지를 중심에 두고, 화려함보다는 본질에 집중한 조용한 긴장감을 담고자 했습니다.

가구와 소재, 공간을 구성하는 모든 요소는 불필요한 장식을 배제하고 본질에 집중한 형태와 감각으로 구성되었습니다.

특히 창문의 파티션은 도널드 저드(Donald Judd)의 조형미에서 영감을 받아, 가장 기본적인 형태 안에 조형적 긴장감을 담아냈습니다. 외부에서는 내부 제품이 직접적으로 보이지 않지만, 내부에서는 마치 안개 너머에 떠 있는 듯한 이미지를 만들어내며, 감추고 드러냄의 경계를 통해 여성의 내면성과 자율성을 시각화합니다. 이는 FINNE가 추구하는 철학—자신을 위한 아름다움, 시대를 초월한 스타일, 그리고 내면의 힘—을 공간 언어로 표현하였습니다.
